Service Description

Poetry can throw a student off, thinking it is written in a way that is imprenetrable for them. The reality is that it is just a different form of storytelling, a more compact, concise and dense one but at the saem time unbelievably exciting and rewarding. In this masterclass we work through two poems methodically with a clear step by step approach to breaking down the text, understanding the overall meaning and then finding depth in the individual words, language devices and form and structure of the piece. The skills learnt in the session will be invaluable in unpicking and appreciating poetry in the 11+ exam and beyond.
